Abstract
This article examines past and current legal cases relating to the Constitution's First Amendment's requirements for public schools in the area of religion. As a follow-up to the article we published in the fall issue of this journal titled "The First Amendment Goes to School," it also offers guidance to school administrators and teacher educators in South Carolina to help them comply with these legal requirements for educators now established by court rulings. Landmark and other cases are used to define both the freedoms and limits to those freedoms for educators and their students.
