About TEJSC
The Teacher Education Journal of South Carolina (TEJSC) is published jointly by the South Carolina Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (SCACTE) and the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators (SCATE). TEJSC is a peer-reviewed journal publishing material of interest to teachers and teacher educators across the southeast. The journal contains articles reporting on useful practices, research findings, and experiments, as well as first-person accounts and opinion pieces on controversial issues. Consideration is given to articles dealing with educational trends and philosophy; pre-service and in-service education; effective schools; curriculum; learning styles; discipline; guidance and counseling; community involvement; education of students with disabilities; teaching and learning climate; gifted and talented programs; international education; instructional leadership; instructional techniques; testing and measurement; and school law. TEJSC is published online twice a year by SCATE, the South Carolina Association of Teacher Educators.
Call for TEJSC Papers
The TEJSC is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal that includes articles based on all areas of teaching and teacher education. We welcome work from all who are involved in teacher preparation, including students who are learning about research and teaching.
Articles sent to the TEJSC for publication consideration must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Articles must be applicable to the Journal.
- Submissions should be no longer than 3000 words in length (limit does not include figures, tables, and references).
- The TEJSC follows the American Psychological Association standards for publishing Guidelines (APA7).
Articles should be submitted to the editor as an attachment in Word format. Each article will be sent for peer review upon receipt. We accept articles about:
- Accreditation and Policy
- Administration
- Assessment
- Current Issues in Education
- Teaching and Learning across the Curriculum
- Technology

Timeline for Publication
- January- February: Manuscripts undergo a desk review for appropriateness to the journal's aims. Authors ant notified when pieces are sent out for review.
- February- March: Peer Review Period
- April: Author revisions due
- April- May: Final edits, with author input
- June: Publication
- June- July: Manuscripts undergo a desk review for appropriateness to the journal's aims. Authors ant notified when pieces are sent out for review.
- July-September: Peer Review Period
- October: Author revisions due
- October-November: Final edits, with author input
- December: Publication
Call for TEJSC Reviewers
The board welcomes applications for new reviewers.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate 1-2 manuscripts a year (more if needed) and determine if the manuscript is (a) accepted with minor revisions; (b) in need of major revisions and reconsideration by reviewer, or (c) not appropriate for TEJSC.
- Provide specific feedback to the editors and the authors about style, presentation, and content.
- Respond to the editor and complete reviews in a timely manner. Reviews should be completed within one month.
- Conduct anonymous peer reviews involving guidelines set forth by TEJSC.
