Abstract
The public has increasingly pushed for more transparency on matters of school finance. One important financial tool utilized by schools are budgets and a lack of budget transparency can result in many detrimental outcomes including faculty distrust. If the distrust is severe, teachers may even leave their schools. This study examines the relationship between budget transparency and teacher retention in the state of South Carolina. Results suggest that the variables may be positively associated.
