Abstract
Preservice teacher education students should be definitive in their understandings about aspects of multicultural education and diversity. This article provides an analysis of the perceptions of preservice teacher education students regarding opportunities in the curriculum to enhance their understanding of multiculturalism and diversity. Based on the findings from the study, there is a convincing call for teacher education programs to help preservice teachers develop their knowledge, skills, and dispositions to teach diverse students. Specific strategies are presented for reforming the landscape for the preservice teacher education curriculum.
