Abstract
When attempting to make digital content more engaging, it can be challenging to know where to start. Drawing on the implementation practices of Dixson et al. (2016) and Livingston and Shaw (2019), this article shares the author's first experiences and reflections on using icons to create narrative course structure and offers suggested resources for bringing visually engaging icons to online learning environments.
