This presentation will summarize research centered around building historical thinking among preservice teachers using the National Archives DocsTeach Program and summarize their experiences as they utilize digitized primary sources in their own classrooms.

Speaker Bio
Dr. Jeremy Rinder is an assistant professor of education at the University of South Carolina Aiken where he primary teachers in the Early Childhood and Elementary Education programs. His focus is on Social Studies instructional methods but also teaches courses in classroom management and assessment. Dr. Rinder's wife, Whitney, is a fourth-grade teacher at Horse Creek Academy. He has two boys, Lincoln (5) and Sawyer (3), with another son, Sutton, on the way this summer. Outside of higher education, Dr. Rinder serves as the Head Volleyball Coach at Aiken High School.
