Abstract/Description
An extensive evaluation of Georgetown County has been undertaken in order to detennine procedures to fund and structure an economic development program across the entire diverse county. A SWOT analysis has been performed to identify specific characteristics pertaining to the strong and weak points of Georgetown. After taking these observations into consideration, the analysis led to the conclusion that the organizational structure of the county should be reorganized and that the budget requires recalculation. These recommendations must be accompanied by the leaders of the county and the commitment to support the necessary changes that must be implemented. Many advantages of Georgetown exist which will allow a successful conversion as to the strategies that have been introduced. The Georgetown County Economic Development Committee is faced with this detrimental problem and the major concern is how the GCEDC could fund and support a growing community across the entire county. Secondary research has been gathered from various sources to substantiate the conclusions that have derived.
