Abstract/Description

It has been thought for many years that hurricanes intensify as they cross the Gulf Stream. Through looking at archived track maps, it has been determined statistically that this intensification is not significant next to the actual strength of the storm. To determine why this occurs, the physical processes that control this phenomenon will be examined.
