Abstract/Description
The ghost crab, Ocypode quadrata, is a common animal found on many beaches. They prey on mole crabs and coquina clams found in the swash zone. The purpose of this study is to determine whether ghost crabs are foraging optimally, getting their highest energy return for time invested. Investigations into foraging behavior is important because animals spend the majority of their time feeding.
