Abstract
Approximately a third of the world’s population lives in a coastal region. While coastal communities comprise about 10% of the land mass of the contiguous United States (e.g., excluding Alaska and Hawaii), they are home to 40% of the U.S. population. From its inception, the Coastal Business Journal (CBJ) has sought to highlight research on issues pertaining to business administration and business development within coastal geographic regions. Looking forward, it is our desire to expand the availability of research pertaining to coastal communities in the pages of the CBJ. In the future, we hope researchers who conduct studies on coastal-related areas of inquiry will consider submitting their research to the Coastal Business Journal.
