Abstract/Description
An inequity exists in the number of women and minorities pursuing careers in science and mathematics. Although this trend most likely develops over time, it noticeably begins in middle school aged children. For this project, I designed, taught, and assessed a series of supplemental science activities for middle school girls. I also conducted a library research project that examined the influences of supplemental science activities on children's abilities and aptitudes.
