Abstract/Description
Future poets may take the idea that images rooted in nature and through nature God even further than James Dickey has with the deep image. It is obvious that poets, consciously or not, have successfully used such images traceable to the hieroglyphic throughout the history of American poetry. That they will continue to do so is extremely likely.
