Description
This video is the final part of a six-part video series showing a tour of Sandy Island recorded on June 19th, 2018. This clip shows a wooded area with vehicles parked in the shade. As the tour bus rides through, the tour guide teaches the tourist about ballast bricks. During the 18th and 19th centuries, ballast bricks were used on trading ships to balance and keep them from capsizing. They were discarded on islands when picking up more cargo, which explains their presence on Sandy Island.
