Road to Sandy Island School

Tour bus, led by Rommy Pyatt of Tours de Sandy Island, travels to the Sandy Island School, passing by houses and trees until the building appears while Pyatt explains the history of the school in the background. Pyatt’s grandfather, Abraham Herriott, originally built the building as a school building. He further explains that the school was shut down in 1965, and the building became a senior citizen and youth activity center, where it eventually fell into disrepair. Coastal Carolina University would reopen the Center later.
