CCU WATER

The CCU Watershed Advisory Taskforce for Education and Research (CCU WATER) is a collaborative effort to bring stakeholders together for improved water quality outcomes on and off campus. CCU WATER strives to bring together student, faculty, and staff researchers who are studying CCU’s living laboratory of campus ponds and wetlands with the staff who help manage those ecosystems. Through stakeholder meetings and sharing of research findings, the taskforce aims to inform on-campus stormwater management decisions that ultimately impact CCU’s downstream partners, including the Waccamaw National Wildlife Refuge and the Waccamaw River. CCU WATER was formed in 2024 with funding by the President’s Council for Sustainability and Coastal Resilience (PCSCR) at Coastal Carolina University.
