A wide shot of Phillip Washington's house capturing the front door and bushes of the house. He was the founder of the culture of Sandy Island, and the leader that kept the slaves of Sandy Island united. The house was built in 1830 on a plot of land on Sandy Island that was bought by Phillip Washington. The house was valued at around $150,000.
