Presentation Abstract
Sustainable business certifications fall under various categories including but not limited to food, household and cosmetic products, infrastructure, and energy. This project will discuss the types and qualifications of sustainable business certifications, why businesses are choosing to become certified, and the incentives for business and the consumer. After working with Heritage Landscape Services, a local company in Gilbert, SC and Charleston, SC they will choose which certification works best for their business and go through the process of becoming a certified sustainable business. Various interviews were conducted with multiple businesses, their current sustainable practices were accessed, and matched to various certifications. After all the necessary research is completed, one certification will be chosen the best fit for small and large businesses.
