While the Honors Program has a long history at Coastal, the Honors College was established officially in 2018, and in 2019 was named the HTC Honors College for the HTC, Inc. (formerly Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc.). The Interdisciplinary Studies major had been housed in Humanities, in Education, and other units before joining the new Center for Interdisciplinary Studies within this college. The Center was then moved to the College of Humanities and Fine Arts again in the summer of 2021. [February 2022]
